Friday Night Launch Party

Start the SETIcon weekend with a blast!  Join us on Friday, June 22 @ 7:00pm for a SETI Institute Update followed by From Microscope to Telescope: 3 minute lightning talks with images from the field by SETI Institute scientists.  After the lightning rounds we will find out about The Future of Space Exploration from two well known experts – Alan Stern and Mae Jemison.

  • Sneak Preview: SHUTTLE3D & The New Pioneers with Producer David Knight
  • Stay into the evening and enjoy the music of The Kepler Mission.  The band recently played at a NASA event for the real Kepler team and we are excited to have them back in the Bay Area for SETIcon II.
  • Join the after-hours party with SETI Institute Artist in Residence Charles Lindsay who will perform ‘Music for Astrobiologists’ to his Trout Fishing in Space video suite.  Other worldly sounds and original visuals will delight those who want to power on past 11pm.
